On a bright Wednesday morning in Homa Bay, history was made. The doors of Acakoro School officially opened. What began as a bold vision years ago has now transformed into Kenya’s first residential football academy - a unique campus where education and sport come together under one roof.

From Vision to Reality

The idea for the Acakoro Campus was born out of a simple but powerful realization: talent alone is not enough. Children need a safe space, structured schooling, proper nutrition, and professional training to truly flourish.

Our ideas became the Homa Bay campus: a place that combines classrooms, dormitories, sports facilities, and mentorship programs. It is more than a school. It is a safe haven where young athletes can learn, grow, and dream without compromise.

Partnership and Support

The opening ceremony brought together community leaders, government officials, international partners, and, most importantly, the children who will call this campus home. The presence of Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga as chief guest underscored the strong partnership between the county government and Acakoro. Together, we aim to shape the future of Kenyan football and education, ensuring that local talent has the platform to shine.

A New Chapter for Kenyan Youth

The campus is not just about producing football stars. Its mission is broader: to equip children with discipline, teamwork, leadership, and academic excellence. Whether they grow into professional athletes, teachers, engineers, or community leaders, Acakoro School gives them the foundation to succeed.

As the first whistle of training blew and students stepped into their new classrooms, one thing was clear: this is a beginning. The Acakoro School is a symbol of what happens when dreams meet determination, when communities unite, and when children are given the chance to rise.

Looking Ahead

The opening marks only the first milestone. In the years ahead, Acakoro aims to expand its impact, reaching more children, building stronger links with Kenyan football, and serving as a model for how sport and education can be woven together to create lasting change.

For the children of Homa Bay and beyond, the Acakoro School is proof that dreams do not stay on paper. They grow, they take shape, and they can change the world.
